Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer ("CFO"), you will have a leadership role in promoting company culture and business discipline around financial analysis, implications, and results. You will have direct responsibility for all Genomic Health's accounting records and financial controls, maintaining current financial operations and SOX compliant controls and oversight over all general and revenue accounting functions. In addition, you will have operational responsibility for the company's annual operating plan process and forecast updates throughout the year.

This is a "hands on" position with direct responsibility for Genomic Health's financial forecast and other analysis needs. You will also have the opportunity to assist in the planning and implementation of various new systems, procedures and vendor relationships for a rapidly evolving business.

Responsibilities/Duties:
· Oversee preparation of company accounting records and controls necessary to maintain auditable records.
· Use reporting tools to generate required reports for both internal and external reporting
· Assist with monthly analysis reporting package for Sr. Management
· Work with CFO on risk management issues and annual renewal process
· Preparation of internal financial reports
· Ownership for Annual Financial plan development and delivery to Senior Management and Board of Directors
· Lead periodic financial forecast updates; including formal mid-year re-forecast.
· Be a key participant in 5-10 Strategic Long-Range Plan development process.
· Create monthly analysis and reporting package in conjunction with Accounting group for Sr. Management
· Provide business analysis support to business development function
· Work with department heads to obtain variance analysis for budget to actual on monthly cycle and identify tools necessary for improved reporting and control
· Assist management in analyzing corporate performance and productivity
· Assist in any system or process modifications (IT, Accounting, Forecaster etc.)

· Clearly articulate the business case for change; involve, engage, inspire and energize individuals and teams to embrace the reason for change, and build commitment through clear communication
· Champion and guide innovation by inspiring others to think differently; discover, share, and welcome new ideas to improve and transform our business
· Clearly and consistently communicate plans to employees and stakeholders and know what Genomic must deliver; focus individual and team time and talent to make it happen by communicating objectives, milestones, and progress
· Hold yourself and others accountable to demonstrate excellence in everything we do and how we do it; believe in yourself, your teams, and in our vision and mission

Qualifications
· A minimum of 15+ years' experience in Senior Accounting and Supervisory/Review level
· B.S. Degree in Accounting, or equivalent
· CPA or MBA preferred but not required
· Biotechnology, healthcare or health insurance industries preferred
· Worked with a product-based company with experience in issues involving revenue recognition, billing & collections, product costing & planning, inventory maintenance, and sales force reporting.
· Managing external audit relationship
· Stock option accounting knowledge
· SEC reporting experience
· Expertise with federal and state tax issues
· First rate interpersonal skills and responsiveness to others
· An ability to multitask, work independently and meet multiple deadlines as required.
· An ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization.
· Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the role of finance in supporting the company's strategy.
· Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers and customers as needed
· Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner
· Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality
· Ability to work as part of a team
