Overview:

As the Oncology Marketing Product Manager ("PM"), this role will report to the Associate Director, US Oncology Marketing, and be directly responsible for providing comprehensive support across strategic and tactical management of marketing initiatives supporting the objectives of the Breast and Colon Brand Team.

This PM role will maintain specific vendor relationships, create hard-copy and digital assets on competitive marketing, and lead decision-making support based on analytics and market research activities. The position will also participate in other strategic and promotional related projects associated with educating key customers and analytics support.

Success in this position will require attention to detail, proven analytical skills, and the ability to carry out multiple tasks in parallel. Competitive candidates will possess relevant experience in diagnostics and/or oncology marketing or market research, with a demonstrated ability to master complex scientific material and convey these concepts to others in a compelling, understandable manner.

Given the extensive contact the Marketing Department has with multiple internal and external parties, strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are essential. The PM should enjoy working collaboratively and professionally in an ever-changing office environment and be able to maintain composure and poise in sometimes hectic situations. To support departmental activities, he/she will convey verbal & written requests and other information to internal and external parties on a routine basis.


RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

· Provide tactical execution and project management for analytical tools & competitive programs focused on specialty audiences (e.g. oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, oncology fellows, etc).
· Develop/maintain strong working relationships with internal parties across matrix teams, (especially Sales, Commercial Training, Sales Operations & Analytics, Corporate Communications and Medical Affairs) and external customers, vendors, associations, etc. to ensure all objectives and projects are completed on time and within budget.
· Handle questions and requests related to department programs and functions and keep current on all technical and clinical data associated with the assay, along with primary product positioning, messages, and promotional collateral.
· Attend industry meetings and prepare reports as needed to convey scientific or competitive information that may affect our markets and product positioning
· Prepare verbal and written requests and other information to internal and external parties on a routine basis.
· As requested, create departmental memoranda and presentations - sometimes with only basic outlines to work from in creating new correspondence.
· Coordinate regulatory & legal review of new or revised materials in a timely fashion.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

· Strategic thinker with proven analytical skills for market intelligence.
· Writing skills: memos, promotional messaging, letters, data analyses, with proper grammar and spelling. The competitive candidate will be a great writer and tireless reviewer with a sharp eye for language.
· Demonstrated ability to managed external agencies and vendors to timelines and budgets
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, simultaneous, complex tasks and to meet deadlines.
· Brings a positive mental attitude to daily tasks and becomes a net contributor to overall morale.
· Exceptional organizational/project management skills. Ability to juggle multiple projects and deliverables at once. Strong initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability. Sense of ownership in driving projects to completion.
· BA or BS required.
· Strong communicator with the ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers, and customers as needed
· Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner
· Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality
· Ability to work as part of a team
· A demonstrated willingness to exercise initiative in cases where decisions need to be made and supervisors are not available to consult, coupled with the tact and judgment to do so appropriately.
· Maintain professional, friendly and courteous telephone and written communications with all internal and external audiences. We are an organization that must be firmly committed to premium customer service.
· Computer skills: power point, word processing, excel spreadsheets, databases, familiarity and use of Internet/World Wide Web, presentation development skills, MS Office expertise at a high level.
