REASON FOR APPOINTMENT:

Following the publication of the IQWiG needs assessment and the unique positioning of the Oncotype DX® test for invasive breast cancer, Genomic Health plans to further strengthen its presence in Germany, Genomic Health is looking to recruit a Key Account Manager focusing on customers and developing business in the "East" territory in Germany. This is primarily in relation to the company's lead product, the Oncotype DX® test for invasive breast cancer and may include other products in the future.

This European-based position offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing organization with exceptional development opportunities such as a growing remit with view to territory and products. The role holder will be very visible (externally and internally) and able to make a significant impact to the organization as the company strengthens its direct sales model with a more personal presence in Germany.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Key Account Manager will maximize the potential and the use of the product in her/his territory.. Key activities are potential driven key account management, delivering the selling messages, providing a high-level of customer service toward being a best in class assay provider, and solving challenging problems in a dynamic environment.

With a track record in oncology sales (ideally breast cancer) and with existing contacts to Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and relevant clinics/hospitals in this region, the individual will engage with physicians and KOLs to further develop sales in existing and new accounts. She/he will build and maintain comprehensive understanding of her/his customer needs and develop key account records to manage these relationships.

As the German organization is currently expanding, the role holder will have an ability to work autonomously in the region in a close cooperation with the national sales manager. Travel and overnight stay is necessary to cover the territory appropriate. She/he will attend some national and local conferences/meetings. Due to the complexity of medical oncology diagnostics, a person who has a medical/scientific background with an ability to analyze data, and who is well-organized, flexible and passionate about working with such products is most likely to succeed.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

· To drive sales in Germany East
· To be responsible for managing and growing business in existing and new accounts, and to achieve sales goals
· To give presentations on the product at a local level, attend relevant conferences/events in Germany and assist with exhibition stands, drive stand alone meetings as well as workshop meetings
· To attend regular training on the product(s)

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

· Sales experience in premium products with a strong record of success promoting complex products in medical oncology and/or diagnostics (ideally in breast cancer) in Germany East
· Proven large territory or large account management skills
· Deep understanding (or can quickly learn) and familiarity with clinical research in cancer. The role holder will be comfortable with investigators and may have worked as medical liaison
· Excellent understanding of cancer care in Germany in hospital and reimbursement setting
· Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) at all levels of the organization
· Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
· Self-starter, autonomous, entrepreneurial, maybe already experience of working in a start-up organization
· Willingness to travel to visit all relevant accounts, as well as attending national meetings with occasional overnight stays and evening/weekend meetings
· Marketing, managed care or team leader experiences is a plus
· Good communication skills in English is a plus
