Sr. Director Platform Lifecycle Management

Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Director of Platform Lifecycle Management is responsible for the development and execution of strategies to maximize the value of the company's key software platforms and provide a differentiated competitive advantage. This includes leadership of the Platform Lifecycle Management function, including planning, managing, and execution of all Software and System Development projects and initiatives. All Platform Lifecycle Managers managing global User Experience, Revenue Cycle and Lab Informatics domains report to the lead, as does the manager of Business Process Analysis. The Sr. Director works cooperatively with the Product Lifecycle Management team to determine the synchronization of Product and Platform strategies and is responsible for the Platforms Long Range Plan (3-5 years) that determines the direction of Software Platforms in the company as part of overall company strategies.

The Sr. Director has a strong influence on major global business decisions made by VP and SVP level executives across the company through the work of their team in analyzing and providing options for strategies, evaluating alternatives, selecting and presenting relevant data for potential areas of investment.

The Sr. Director is responsible for the outcomes of the Platform and software development prioritization and scoping process that determines the content of all software and IT releases. Under their leadership, the Platform teams will deliver 12-18 months detailed roadmaps that map to the long-range plan, negotiating with business leaders on timing and scope, and with development leadership for timing and execution of projects and releases. The Sr. Director reports into the CIO and is end accountable for the communication of roadmaps, management, and setting of expectations and alignment with business leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

· Business Strategy
o Create and manage the Platforms long term strategy to drive value creation over multiple years
· Roadmaps, Project portfolio strategy, and planning
o Use executive knowledge of business priorities and company strategy to determine optimal planning scenarios across all software and systems development, ensuring maximum business value is delivered over the short and long term
o Create and present options for executive decision making, working through your teams and collaborating with Product Lifecycle Management to gather key information to support option analysis and make end decisions on project scope, timing and budgets
o Influence roadmaps across systems and software platforms
· Develop and Lead the Platform Lifecycle Management team
o Mature, manage, and grow a highly collaborative team and develop the capabilities of the Platform Lifecycle Management function to maximize output against strategic goals
o Apply strategic workforce planning, personal development, and teacher/trainer skills to develop the team to meet long term business goals
o Develop and execute requirements management strategies, taking into account types of projects and GHI's short and long-term goals
· Business Process Management
o Ensure that business processes are managed strategically, matching capability development to long term value and driving a collaborative planning and project execution process with business leaders throughout the company
o Partner with Product Lifecycle Management and software development leadership to ensure that business processes are kept whole and optimal as changes are made across the organization and that we systematically improve our ability to deliver on long term goals
o Create business process management strategies and high-level business requirements that influence across individual platform roadmaps and value streams to drive cross-platform benefits
o Management of global business processes throughout their lifecycle
· Reporting, Communication, and Influence
o Compile, prepare & deliver executive level presentations to influence strategy and high-value decision making
o Communicate to, and influence, a range of stakeholders from CEO level executives, SVPs and VPs across departments, down to technical leads, program managers and senior architects


QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED

· 15+ years' experience in Product Management of a technical solution or technology services
· 10 years working as a manager of a team of senior individual contributors exerting a large influence across the organization
· MBA preferred with a BS or MS in a relevant domain
· Prior experience working as a Senior Product Manager with a focus on software content; a biotechnology domain preferred
· Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels within the organization and drive highly collaborative and strategic engagements.
· Proven experience in change management
· Proficient with project management software for use in managing requirements
· Proficient with requirements management software for use in managing requirements
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills
· Strong organizational, leadership, problem solving and influencing skills

· Travel Requirements: < 15% Travel
