Commercial Learning Instructional Design Manager

Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Associate Director, Commercial Learning and is responsible for supporting the training of all the company's products, including new hire and on-going continued education programs. These training programs will be varied by specific training needs, and will include product specific training, disease-state training, and other professional development programs to benefit the commercial organization. This job requires one-on-one and team collaborations with sales training, marketing, medical, and field sales. Preference is for candidate to be based out of Redwood City corporate headquarters, will entertain remote candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
· Develop and support components of the sales training program related to the promotion of the Oncotype DX suite of products for newly hired and experienced sales professionals.
· Update, maintain, and deliver new hire training, as well as address the ongoing learning and development needs of the entire Sales team based on Sales direction.
· Act as an instructional designer and apply adult learning principles to construct and update ongoing programs to help achieve corporate objectives.
· Conduct ongoing assessments of potential learning gaps throughout the field through collaboration with peers, Sales Leadership, Medical, Marketing, and other partners to design and deploy targeted programs that reduce knowledge gaps and enhance field effectiveness through improvement of competencies.
· Serve as the bridge between Marketing and Sales by translating and communicating brand strategies to Sales personnel through multiple training mediums.
· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.


QUALIFICATIONS:
· Strong project management skills to aid in the organization, planning, implementation and execution of learning initiatives
· Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
· Self-starter with results orientation
· Ability to manage multiple priorities based on changing business needs
· Ability to tailor training/presentation based on audience
· Experience working cross-functionally with other departments and key stakeholders
· Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics and urology/oncology and the ability to distill high-level scientific information into easily understood concepts for an audience with diverse educational backgrounds and experience
· Strong understanding of adult learning principles with a demonstrated ability to apply those principles in a medical environment
· MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
· B.S or B.A. degree
· 8+ years of pharmaceutical / biotechnology experience
· Prior sales training experience preferred; highly successful oncology sales experience representing leadership in your region
· Seen as a leader by his/her peers and leadership
· Sales leadership experience a plus but not required
· Strong urology/oncology KOL relationships a plus but not required

· Travel Requirements: 50%+ Travel
· Standing or sitting for long periods of time may be necessary
· Some lifting (greater than 25 pounds) may be necessary;
