Sr. Director, Medical Affairs (Urology)

The Senior Director will be responsible for the strategic management and direction of medical affairs activities supporting the Oncotype DX Genome Prostate Score (GPS) assay. As a key leader on the Urology Team, this individual works in close collaboration with the senior leaders of Clinical Development, Marketing & Sales, Reimbursement & Managed Care, Pathology, Customer Service, and Business Development / Life Cycle Management. The position includes managing a field-based Urology Medical Affairs team consisting of Medical Director(s) and Medical Science Liaisons in the US.

Core Medical Affairs responsibilities include strategic oversight of the portfolio of collaborative and investigator-initiated studies in the US, accountability for managing medical content of the company's external presentations and medical communications, management of the US Urology Key Opinion Leader plan, leadership of advisory boards, medical conference coverage, leadership of clinical content training programs for sales representatives and distributors, and medical reviews/approvals of all promotional materials.

Reporting to the Vice President, Global Medical Affairs, this senior level position requires professionals with established personal and scientific credibility to interact with national thought leaders and centers of excellence.

·Manage US-based Medical Directors and Medical Science Liaisons who support independent and company-sponsored study collaborations, provide medical education and clinical support to physicians and thought leaders, and support medical training to field commercial personnel.
·Develop and manage strategic plan for engaging top tier national thought leaders, including physician leaders of cooperative study groups, urology professional societies, and large urology group practice associations.
·Develop a national medical affairs strategy in support of commercial goals for the GPS assay product.
·Act as primary senior level contact for investigators interested in developing and performing independent studies with the GPS assay.
·Lead national/regional advisory boards to seek external advice.
·Oversee medical content development for clinical presentations disseminated to external speakers for medical educational purposes and for use internal use in sales training programs.
·Oversee medical support to Customer Service and provision of medical information in response to inquiries from academic, community, and healthcare providers regarding clinical use of assays. Inquiries may involve specific patient cases requiring facilitation of reviews through company's team of pathologists.
·Represent medical perspectives to company's commercial, operational, communications, long range planning, and business development initiatives in urology
·Manage strategic plan for investigator initiated and collaborative studies, providing support as needed in study design discussions, protocol development, study operations, analysis, and preparation of abstracts and publications.
·Provide Scientific and Medical presentations and dossier reviews for regional and national managed care and reimbursement objectives.
·Provide team leadership and scientific support at international and regional medical congresses.
·Provide scientific support for medical educational initiatives, including facilitating the development of faculty speakers.
·Provide medical review and edits for all educational and promotional materials
·Assure compliance with relevant corporate and regulatory guidelines.

·MD with industry experience from working in oncology in diagnostics, pharma, biotech, and/or medical devices (Highly experienced PharmD or PhD candidate may be acceptable)

·At least 10+ years of industry experience.
·Strong people management skills
·Entrepreneurial skill set, capable of working well in self-directed manner across small, cross-functional teams
·Strong collaboration and active listening skills
·Therapeutic experience/expertise in Urology (prostate cancer in particular) or diagnostics preferred.
·Preferably possesses an established relationship network of physicians involved in treating prostate cancer
·Ability to travel 30-50%.
·Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
·Ability to independently deliver quality results in a timely manner
