OVERVIEW:

Genomic Health, the world's leading provider of genomic-based cancer diagnostic tests, is seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner to join the Supply Chain Management team. This individual will be responsible for the materials planning and procurement functions to support Genomic Health's laboratory developed tests (LDT) and in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products and services by maintaining the appropriate supply of qualified materials across multiple locations. S/he will be accountable for creating BOMs, generating and updating product forecasts in MRP, establishing inventory re-order points, and creating the purchase orders and work orders necessary to effectively manage supply.

This successful candidate will possess the skills to effectively communicate with GHI's Quality and Manufacturing teams to plan the production and release of materials, as well as engage with vendors, contract manufacturers and affiliates to track and monitor spend, product supply and overall performance. S/he will work with cross functional teams to identify areas of opportunity to improve materials management and replenishment programs supporting on-going operations. S/he will be a key contributor to the Supply Chain Management team by providing strategic input on cost saving initiatives and supplier/partner related issues.
The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years' experience working in a procurement and inventory management role, including experience in a FDA-regulated medical device, in vitro diagnostic, or other regulated environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
· Manage new part set-up, bill of materials, product forecasts, re-order points, work orders, purchase orders and safety stock levels
· Manage the materials purchases using development and commercial forecasts along with setting the appropriate safety stock levels to maintain inventory at planned levels
· Manage purchase requisitions for all non-forecasted and non-safety stock level items including capital equipment
· Support new product launch and key research and development programs with purchasing and materials planning
· Initiate second sourcing opportunities and cost savings initiatives; which include make versus buy cost models
· Work with Supply Chain Management and Finance (Accounting) to reconcile any purchase order discrepancies
· Partner with Legal to initiate Confidentiality Agreements, Contracts and Supply Agreements when necessary
· Manage and adjust current product and test-related forecasts based on usage and business growth
· Participate on cross-functional teams responsible for securing and maintaining CLIA certification, CAP accreditation, ISO 15189 accreditation, ISO 13485 certification, NY laboratory regulations and state licensure activities
· Other responsibilities as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:



REQUIRED

· 8+ years' experience working in a buying and planning role, including experience in a Life Sciences, Biotech, or Medical Device company
· Advanced knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash processes
· Experience in developing cost models around volume based discounts and tiered pricing
· Proficient in the holistic practices of materials planning, procurement and forecasting in an MRP system
· Experience in management of suppliers and contract manufacturers
· Proficient in building highly complex, multi-level BOMs
· Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and database applications
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams
· Detail-oriented personality, strong organizational skills
· Possess the desire to challenge the status quo and drive results in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment


DESIRED
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent
· Experience in procuring and planning IVD products
· Experience with ERP or MRP implementations
· Team player with strong history of driving process improvements
