Corporate and Employee Communications Manager, Sr. manager

Overview:

Genomic Health is seeking a Corporate and Employee Communications Manager/Sr. Manager to develop and manage the implementation of internal communications programs to inform, motivate and connect employees around the world, while supporting the department in communicating the company's corporate messages and brand to external audiences. The position is based out of our Redwood City, CA corporate office and reports to the Director, Product Communications and Media Relations. The ideal candidate will be professional and personable, highly detailed-oriented, organized, driven, able to multi-task, proactive, have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), remain calm under pressure and tight deadlines, exercise good judgment and bring a positive, passionate attitude. This individual will collaborate closely with the entire Communications department, business partners in Human Resources, Facilities and IT, as well as subject matter experts from various departments. The Corporate and Employee Communications (Sr.) Manager will have responsibilities that require regular interactions with executives as well as the opportunity to gain experience in public and investor relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Employee: Intranet, All-employee communications/events, Company Historian

· Develop and deliver compelling, consistent messages, content and events for employees that reflect the Genomic Health brand and culture and the company's business priorities via online, written, print and face-to-face communications channels.
· Maintain the company intranet homepage, acting as a "corporate journalist" to highlight news, milestones, events, and employees in real-time. Ensure content is timely, consistent with department strategies and inspires and re-recruits the employees.
· Partner with Digital Communications and IT to continually look for ways to improve intranet usability based on metrics.

· Write and edit all-employee emails associated with corporate announcements
· Manage email distribution of company news releases internally
· Encourage two-way dialogue through existing channels and create new mechanisms and events to enhance employee connection and engagement.

· Manage logistics and content development for all-employee meetings (and help prepare internal and external speakers). Support other departments as needed for additional company-wide meetings.

· Partner with HR, Facilities and Community Buzz on key company-wide employee events.

· Manage the collection and archive of company memorabilia as part of internal communications efforts to preserve and highlight the corporate history and culture.

· Develop and implement an annual strategic internal communications plan.

· Monitor and measure the impact of employee communications programs and initiatives with internal target audiences.

Corporate: GHI.com, Social Media, Exec Visibility, Corporate Branding
· Develop and maintain content (copy & video) for corporate website and company's social media channels (corporate and product).

· Create a weekly editorial calendar and manage posting for corporate and product portfolio Twitter and Facebook channels. Stay up to date on the changing social media landscape to ensure optimal strategy across existing channels, as well as the potential activation of new channels.
· Coordinate with Marketing, Patient Communications, and Compliance colleagues to maximize content across respective channels. Compile social media metrics in partnership with Digital Communications.

· Support executive visibility initiatives including facilitating preparation for executive speaking engagements and managing the development and execution of corporate leadership award submissions and promotion.

· Advise internal stakeholders on accurate and consistent corporate branding pull-through across materials and campaigns.

Cross-functional:
· Collaborate with team members in the development of external and internal communications strategies.
· Performs other projects to support department and company goals
· Represent Communications team in relevant cross-functional teams as needed.
· Project/budget/vendor management on relevant projects involving agency support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED
· University Degree (BA or BS) required - Journalism, Communications or English preferred
· 12+ years relevant experience in corporate and employee communications contributing to efforts to cultivate a strong and effective corporate brand and culture
· Experience interacting with executives
· Experience developing, writing and executing clear plans, timelines, and budgets
· Experience with developing social media content and managing channels
· Familiarity managing outside agencies, contractors, and associated budgets
· Project management skills; strong communicator with the ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers, and patients as needed; enthusiasm and passion!
· Ability to work independently; comfort with interacting with both internal and external stakeholders
· Superior organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability/desire to multi-task
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner
· Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Self-starter, resourceful, impeccable work ethic
· Strong skills with Microsoft Applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.


DESIRED
· Biotech, Life sciences or Pharma industry experience
· Experience working with Sharepoint, Microsoft 360, iMovie
