As the Director, Human Resources, you will be based in our Redwood City, California office and report to the Vice President of Human Resources for the Precision Oncology Business Unit of Exact Sciences. You will provide senior HRBP support to US Commercial, and Corporate Functions (Corporate Communications, Legal & Compliance, Finance, and HR in Redwood City). In addition, you will manage the HRBP who supports the Lab Operations and Customer Service teams.

As our business transforms, you will assist senior leadership with managing and leading change through talent, process, and systems solutions in support of our culture. As a strategic business partner, change agent, and member of the line management staff, you will select, develop, and evaluate employees to ensure the efficient operation of the function. You will participate in business planning sessions with senior leaders ensuring integration of competitive human resources strategies and act as a "culture advocate and architect" within the client organizations. With a keen ability to navigate the organization and collaborate effectively, you will provide coaching and guidance to senior leaders and managers in the areas of total rewards, individual and team performance, organization design, capability & skill assessment, learning & development, employee relations, and other talent management programs.

In addition to your HRBP responsibilities, you will also be the leader for the US Employee Relations Practice at the Redwood City site. This involves identifying and implementing best practices and procedures, providing input for the Exact Sciences Employee Handbook, and applicable policies. You will act as a trusted resource for employee relations ("ER") matters and promote collaboration between HR, Legal, Compliance and all employee stakeholders. You will support a fair, inclusive, positive work environment and resolve ER issues effectively through a systematic approach. You will assess and analyze trends in Employee Relations and US Labor Law making recommendations for improvement in our practices and management training, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizational Leader and Business Partner:
· Participate in the development of strategic and operational plans for the function/business to meet business objectives for client groups: US Commercial, and Corporate Functions.
· Collaborate with business leaders in the development of solutions, action plans, and measures of success, which may include developing effective structures, systems and skills to support business goals and talent requirements
· Proactively identify and apply strategies and tactics to ensure engagement and alignment of employees as we transform our business
· Drive and apply change management processes as appropriate to sustain collaboration and a work environment that inspires ongoing improvements and innovation
· Actively participate in the corporate talent review and capability assessment process by communicating the talent review program, and lead the processes in each group for the assessment of talent and collection of data that informs future talent and skills sets to remain competitive and anticipate emerging capabilities with assigned client groups
· Lead various HR and/or cross-functional business projects/programs
· Seek out opportunities to advance business acumen to understand the industry environment

US Human Resources Leader:

· Support the career development of our HR team by developing career growth plans that support continuous learning
· Research relevant business/industry topics and communicate regularly to our HR team

US Employee Relations Leadership:
· Lead the Center of Expertise for the US Employee Relations in Redwood City.
· Collaborate with Exact Sciences HR to design and execute a 3-year-road strategic plan for Employee Relations with the purpose of educating management on the current maturity of our practices and key areas for improvement in Redwood City.
· Identify best practices for prevention of issues, investigation procedures, and ongoing training of managers, and assessment and communication of trends and related corrective actions
· Anticipate, identify, and facilitate timely resolution of employee relations issues
· Act as an internal consultant for HR, employees and management in these situations.
· Collaborate with colleagues in HR, Legal, Compliance, internal Counsel, and other employee stakeholders as appropriate to ensure high quality solutions consistent with Exact Sciences Core Values, federal, state and local laws.
· Provide direction to HR Business Partner(s) and, as needed, conduct thorough, objective investigations.

Learning and Development:
· Provide content input for the development of programs to address learning and development needs for Exact Sciences- RWC, which may include customization, and delivery of training and team building for client groups.
· Collaborate with leaders and employees to create meaningful development and career plans.


Total Rewards Management:
· In partnership with our HR Specialist Teams, assist in the development, implementation and communication of total rewards programs and processes for client groups
· Help identify and develop innovative reward/recognition programs which address the unique needs of the organization.

Talent Acquisition:
· In partnership with the Exact Sciences Global Talent Acquisition Team, assist in the interviewing of candidates, and in the onboarding of new employees for client groups.
· Support the leaders in planning for future talent and skills sets to stay competitive and anticipate emerging capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in business, HR or related field. Must have a minimum of 10-15 years of generalist experience.
· Demonstrated success leading a team and an organization-wide initiative or program. Must have a minimum of 5 years of management experience.
· Must have a high level of knowledge of applicable US Employment Law and practices.
· Prefer a Master's Degree in HR/Industrial Relations, Organization Design, MBA, or related graduate program.

Demonstrated experience/knowledge:
· 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in HR with knowledge in organization design and development, total rewards, performance management, change management, talent management, team development and employee relations. 5+ years of demonstrated experience in managing employee relations matters across multiple areas of the business, and in leading and developing a team.
· Successful track record of building trust and credibility across various functions/businesses. Ability to provide feedback and coaching to all levels of employees. Track record of building productive relationships at all levels of the company. Advanced communication and influence skills are required.
· Advanced knowledge of state and federal employment laws. Demonstrated expertise in conflict resolution and guiding investigations.
· Successful track record in fast-paced life-science or technology environment preferred.
